A WIN carries a basic reward of 50 points, and a LOSS a basic penalty of 50 points.
However, where the winner was the higher ranked player, both the reward and the penalty are reduced, and where the winner was the lower ranked player, both the reward and the penalty are increased.
The reduction or increase is by 10 percent of the points difference between the players before the game. Thus, for example, where the winner stood 500 points or more above his opponent, both the winner's reward and the loser's penalty shrink to zero.
In the case of a draw, just the differential 10 percent is applied, as a deduction for the higher-ranked player and as an addition for the lower-ranked player.
