How do I sign up? The easiest way to sign up is to come to one of our club nights and our President will be happy to help. For new members, the social chess nights (no tournament games) are the best nights to get an introduction to the club.

When and where are club nights? Club nights are Wednesdays in the Havelock North High School library, with juniors/coaching starting at 6pm and tournament games starting at 7pm.

What is the cost of membership? Membership is $45 for seniors and $25 for juniors.

I'm a beginner/new to chess, can I still join? Yes, you can certainly join! We have a wide range of abilities at the club from beginners to more advanced players. The stronger players are more than happy to help.

Do I need to bring my own equipment? No, we supply all pieces and clocks.
